The Motorists' Survey

The Motorists' Survey
The Motorists Survey is the only continuous face to face, in-home survey of motorists, interviewing 12,000 nationally representative UK motorists every year. The questionnaire covers UK breakdown cover, European breakdown cover, motor insurance, car servicing and in-car entertainment and a wealth of demographic and motorgraphic data. The survey has been running continuously in the UK since 1973
Interviewing takes place every month and clients can either subscribe to a specific module or alternatively place ad hoc questions on the survey for a month or more. It is also possible to interview a sub-set group e.g. female motorists, 25-34 year motorists, Ford owners, etc. All research is conducted face to face, in home via CAPI (computer assisted personal interviewing).
Sampling Method Random location sampling at 100 selected sample points across the UK.
Interview Method 1,000 face to face interviews conducted each month (12,000 annually).
Data deliverables Data turn around is extremely quick, with fieldwork typically running in the first 3 weeks of each month and delivery of data tables / presentation of results in week four.
